The Raven Queen awaits. Who will rise up and answer the call?
1823
Triona Sinclair was never meant for an ordinary life.
A spark of something powerful has always lived within her—silent and still, until the moment it finally woke.
A moment of fire and ruin.
With her world shattered, Triona escapes into the wilds of Scotland—flanked by four allies, each loyal in their own way.
But none of them challenge her quite like Finn MacGregor.
Her fiercest defender. The one who’s always been there—in shadows and in silence—and wanted her long before she ever looked his way. A bond as sure as the stars.
But fate is written with ink no one can rewrite.
Hunted for a power she doesn’t yet understand, Triona must seek allies in a world brimming with myth and memory. Survival is no longer enough.
A buried magic is calling.
To protect her world and the people she loves, she must decide if she can embrace the destiny that calls to her…
No matter the cost.

5.0 out of 5 stars: Top read of 2025!

That book was just phenomenal. It was a historical fantasy with real life human experience. It gave me more than most fantasies do because it evoked emotions I don't always feel while reading. I couldn't get enough of the storyline. The "slow parts" ended up being incredibly important to the storyline. Without those parts, we wouldn't have gotten enough background for the characters... which was just an added bonus to the story. Each side character felt alive, and I never felt this overwhelming feeling you can sometimes feel when you're being introduced to multiple characters. I felt each of the their personalities, and related to them. And FINN AND TRIONA... fire couple. Their slow burn was so worth a visit to the ICU. Good GOD was it steamy.

This is an amazing book and kept me hooked all the way through! The details, history, language and overall knowledge shows how much the author researched and that is so appreciated. Not to mention the hardback book itself is gorrrrgeous and you can tell the author spent time perfecting the artistry to draw your eye to this story. I recommend this to everyone whether they are into historical fantasy or just looking for their next can’t put down read and I look forward to any future books this author puts out!
5.0 out of 5 stars: A refreshing departure from cut and paste fantasy

What an amazing read, truly 5 stars for so many reasons! I highlighted so many passages!
-He falls first
-Slow burn
-Irish Mythos & Folklore
-Best friends sister
-Dual POV
-Found family
-Soul bound
This isn't a fast-paced adventure, but rather a richly woven tapestry of world-building that sets an incredible stage for an epic fantasy series. The fact that this is the author's debut makes the whole experience even more thrilling!
Set against the backdrop of the 1800s and steeped in Irish mythology and lore, the storytelling feels poetic and slow, yet it captivates the reader with the mysterious hints sprinkled throughout. Prepare to be enchanted by a classic fantasy journey, where each turn of the page leaves you yearning for more — it’s like being in a mesmerizing dream you wish would never end. The authentic Scottish and Irish lore brings to life a realm filled with fascinating myths and magic.
I cherished every moment of this book; the characters felt so relatable! And you all know how tough I am on FMCs — Triona is everything I could have hoped for and more! Finn, the male lead? Yes, please! He's the fierce protector with the heart of a golden retriever; a devilishly delicious character!
The exploration of deep, unwavering love is beautifully portrayed, not just between Triona and Finn, who are legendary soulmates, but also in the bonds of family, friends, and country. To love is to truly live!
This book had me laughing and literally sobbing as I experienced every possible emotion. The themes of found family, slow-burn romance, heartbreak, and that cliffhanger left me wanting more — in the best way possible! It's such a refreshing departure from the typical fantasy tropes that seem to dominate the genre lately. I am eagerly anticipating book two and will be thinking about this one for quite a while!
